Monthly Mission Focus:  For the month of June our Mission Focus is The Trevor Project. You can  make a check payable to YUMC, with a memo “Trevor” or an online donation by choosing the “other” category and type “Trevor” in the note section. 


Yadkin Christian Ministries.  YCM is in need of shelf staple items.  Rice, pasta, oats, beans (dry and canned), can vegetables, soups, tuna, oil, honey, sugar, peanut butter, crackers, flour, etc.  Baskets are in the Commons for your contributions. (YCM Food pick up for Sunday, June 14, 2026 is Jim & Marcia Downey.)


Nursery. If you would like to serve in the nursery, contact Sidney Matthews (336) 416-9160.


Sharing Pantry.  Have you checked the Sharing Pantry today?  It provides food, toiletries, and other supplies for our friends and neighbors.  If you’d like to contribute food and/or supplies feel free to do it anytime!


The Leadership Team meets every third TUESDAY of each month at 7:00 pm in the John Classroom.   Our regular monthly meetings are open to all members of the church.  Because your voice matters, there is  a designated time for YOU, our church membership, to ask questions, to communicate with the Leadership Team, or to just see what is happening with the church management. Our next meeting is June 16, 2026 at 7:00pm. Covered Dish Meal Celebration

We are having a covered dish meal celebration on Sunday, June 28, 2026 immediately following worship.  We will have food and fellowship as we remember the ministry that we have shared with the Gaylords.  Wishing them well on their next adventure. This will be their last Sunday with us.


Start planning now for the yumminess that you will bring to the table.


Do you have pictures of the Gaylords during their time with us?  If you do, send them to Bobbi.


Lastly, a send off Love Gift is being collected until June 21, 2026.  This seemed to be the best send off gift as they will have already packed their things up for the United Kingdom move!!  You can contribute to the love gift by all of the ways listed on the back of the bulletin.  Remember to memo your donation  “Love Gift”.

Lighthouse Congregation

Our Leadership Team met on February 28th and approved the following:

 

Our congregation, Yadkinville United Methodist Church, has decided to become a Lighthouse Congregation of The Western North Carolina Conference of The United Methodist Church in partnership with The United Methodist Collective. In doing so, we not only commit to remaining a part of The United Methodist Church but also to serving those who have lost their church homes through disaffiliation or closure. We will partner in this work by providing a welcoming  place, offering ministry opportunities, helping organize remnant groups in our community, and assisting individuals and groups in discerning their next steps as they find a new church home.

 

This means that Yadkinville UMC commits to:

1) Provide a welcoming place to belong during this time of grief and transition, which might be for just a season, or for a lifetime. This includes a safe space with caring relationships, listening hearts, and unconditional love within a congregation that is confident it is remaining in the UMC.

2) Offer “No pressure” ministry opportunities (if the person or group is willing). These will include worship, discipleship, and mission.

3) Organize local Remaining UMC groups by proactively finding and connecting with individuals and groups displaced by disaffiliating churches.

4) Connect individuals or groups with Conference and District resources to help them discern their next steps as they consider a new church home.

of Yadkinville United Methodist Church

The Equally Blessed Community of Yadkinville United Methodist Church welcomes you to YUMC!  Our group is affiliated with the Reconciling Ministries Network.  We work here at YUMC to support full inclusion for LGBTQ+ people in the United Methodist Church.  We also provide educational opportunities for the community and congregation on LGBTQ+ issues and topics.  Please contact Shannon Sheek - (336) 466-2797 for more information.  We hope to see you soon!
